Platform for Open Development of Systems of Artificial Intelligence : The Bonseyes project aims to develop a platform consisting of a Data Marketplace, Deep Learning Toolbox, and Developer Reference Platforms for organizations wanting to adopt Artificial Intelligence in low power IoT devices (“edge computing”), embedded computing systems, or data center servers (“cloud computing”). It will bring about orders of magnitude improvements in efficiency, performance, reliability, security, and productivity in the design and programming of Systems of Artificial Intelligence that incorporate Smart Cyber Physical Systems while solving a chicken-egg problem for organizations who lack access to Data and Models. It’s open software architecture will facilitate adoption of the whole concept on a wider scale.
It aims to address one of the most significant trends in the Internet of Things which is the shifting balance between edge computing and cloud computing. The early days of the IoT have been characterized by the critical role of cloud platforms as application enablers. Intelligent systems have largely relied on the cloud level for their intelligence, and the actual devices of which they consist have been relatively unsophisticated. AI-as-a-Service for the Deep Edge: Artificial intelligence (AI) design is an integral part of every smart device and application that we use daily. The developments in the field are growing at a fast pace as there is a constant need for new frameworks to use and optimise applications. The EU-funded BonsAPPs project aims to develop a fully functional, scalable AI-as-a-Service layer that will interoperate with the AI on-demand platform as an external service. This innovation will enhance an existing AI platform to cover experimentation, benchmarking, deployment, and secure licensing of AI solutions at the Deep Edge, such as the AI embedded in all our everyday smart devices.Read more.
Facilitating user engagement in the AI4EU platform : The goal of the AI4EU on-demand platform is to bring together AI stakeholders and resources, overcoming fragmentation issues and encouraging the acceleration of AI-based innovations. Among the most fundamental objectives of the platform is to improve functionality to allow for the easy engagement of its stakeholders, namely SMEs. The EU-funded StairwAI project is targeting low-tech users with the goal of facilitating their engagement in the AI4EU platform.
